The Miss WV Bikini USA State Finals are scheduled August 15 - 16, 2008 (location: TBD). Preliminary contest finalists from all throughout the region will compete for the coveted tile of Miss WV Bikini USA 2008, $750 in cash, a full portfolio photo shoot, the cover of the Miss WV Bikini USA 2009 Calendar, and an all-expense paid trip to the Miss Bikini USA National Finals held in Cancun, Mexico November 6 - 10, 2008.
No contestant will walk away empty handed! The Miss WV Bikini USA Pageant offers all contestants prizes and each contestant receives complimentary gifts during the competition.
Preliminary event winners from throughout the region will compete in both on-stage and off-stage competitions. Each contestant is required to compete in all areas of the competition to qualify for Miss WV Bikini USA 2008. The categories of competition include: Casual wear / club wear, swimwear (provided), swimwear (contestant's choice), and photogenic's (judged off-stage).
PHOTOGENICS
All contestants will be required to turn in a minimum of two photographs in swimwear to be judged on the photogenic quality of the contestant.
CASUAL WEAR / CLUB WEAR
Each contestant will have their choice of outfit and will appear on stage and judged on overall appearance, proportionality, smile and stage presence.
SWIMWEAR
Each contestant will appear on stage in a swimsuit provided by our sponsor, Dirty Bird Bikinis. This is to ensure that each contestant is judged fairly and and given an equal opportunity. Contestants will be judged on overall appearance, proportionality, smile, and stage presence.
SWIMWEAR - Contestant's Choice
Each contestant will appear in a swimsuit of their choice on stage and be judged on overall appearance, proportionality, smile, and stage presence.
Each contestant will appear on stage three times to be judge by a panel of judges, and their photographs will be judged off-stage prior to the start of the stage competition.
After tabulation, all contestants will be brought on stage. At that time, we will announce the top six placing contestants who have qualified to appear in the 2009 Miss WV Bikini USA Calendar. The top six contestants will step forward on stage and await announcement of the winners
Second Runner Up: Contestant will receive $250 in cash and prizes
First Runner Up: Contestant will receive $500 in cash and prizes
First Place: Contestant will be crowned Miss WV Bikini USA 2008, receive the Miss WV Bikini USA 2008 Sash and Crown, $750 in cash, an all-expense paid trip to the National Miss Bikini USA Finals, a full portfolio photo shoot, the cover of the 2009 Miss WV Bikini USA Calendar, and an all-expense paid trip for a feature in STROBE™ Magazine
Q: What else may be worn during the competition?
A: The shoe style is up to the contestant. You may choose to wear high heels or other type of shoe. You may wear minimal jewelry or accessories. The hair style is the option of the contestant. We do not allow contestants to "strip" during the competition, so anything other than a sarong or a wrap may not be worn.
Q: What is the projected timeline of the pageant?
A: The State Finals begin with hotel check-in and a VIP party on Friday night, August 15th. The VIP Cocktail Party is a chance to meet the other contestants, network with photographers and other industry professionals and mingle in a relaxed environment.
The Miss WV Bikini USA State Finals competition begins on Saturday, August 16th. Registration and walk-through will take place at 7:00 PM. The event should start at 11:00 PM and should last about an hour and a half.
Q: What are the State Finals costs?
A: Each contestant is a winner or their local preliminary event, and will receive a State Finals welcome packet filled with State Finals information. Transportation, travel, and hotel accommodations are the sole responsibility of the contestant. 304MARKETING and the Miss WV Bikini-USA Director have secured special rates at a host hotel facility and those rates are available to contestants and their guests. A reservation is required.
Q: What are the prizes for the pageant?
A: Prizes include cash, photo shoots, magazine shoots and tear sheet exposure, modeling advertisement jobs, trips, and be included in the 2009 Miss WV Bikini USA calendar. You can see a list of all of the prizes here.
